Brand and Co-Brand

Two variations for the Bavaria logo

Anytime the Bavaria umbrella brand is the independent sender (own publications) we work with the middle-axle brand logo. For cooperations and partner branding we use an alternative logo (Co-Brand).

The Co-Brand is designed to be more compact and presents itself confidently, especially in combination with other logos.

Within the framework of a special agreement, usage of this brand logo is permitted to our chief partners as well.

Language versions

In addition to the English version, the Brand and the Co-Brand logo are available in German.

Colour variations

There are three colour variations of the umbrella brand: one basic colour variation, one variation with white typography, and one white, inverted (negative) version.

01 – Basic colour variation

Whenever possible, the basic variation of the logo should be used, preferably on a white background. It can also be placed on bright backgrounds and calm image sections.

02 – Logo with white typography

The logo with white typography and coloured rhombus can be used on dark backgrounds and very calm image sections. It should be chosen over the purely white logo, as long as a good visibility of the rhombus can be guaranteed.

03 – White, inverted (negative) logo

The negative version is used when the logo is placed on a dark background and the colour elements are barely visible, if at all. It must be used on very calm, dark image sections.

1c realisations of the logos in different colours (e.g. in Bavaria Royal Blue) in special situations and after consultation are possible.

Positioning and Sizing

Analogously to the designed templates, the Brand logo shall be positioned according to the recommended positioning and sizing. The logo’s protection zone is always, and without exception, to be respected.

Protection zone

The logo is always positioned to other objects/possibly other logos with a minimum spacing of 2xB. The available files are already prepared to have that scope of protection.

Ideally, the protection zone should be kept as large as possible to achieve the best possible impact of the Bavaria umbrella brand.

Typical sizes and minimum size

The logos shall be used in the respective typical sizes. If the layout or the production technology ask for different sizes, they can be used in individual cases. The logo shall not fall below the minimum size, however, there is no maximum size.

The sizes refer to the height of the rhombus. The percentages refer to the integration of the available logo files into the layout software.

typical size DIN A4

25 mm height of the rhombus

25 % of the logo file

typical file DIN A5

15 mm height of the rhombus

15,5 % of the logo file

minimum size

11 mm height of the rhombus

11 % of the logo file

Prohibited usages

The logo files must not be modified or distorted in any way.

The choice of the colour variation should come down to optimal recognisability and readability of the logo. The defined minimum size and the scope of protection must be adhered.

Not allowed are:

  • Changes or additions of the logo in any way
  • Distortions
  • Recolouring
  • Placement on inappropriate backgrounds
  • Placement of the logo close to other elements
  • Unreadable small-size usages of the logo
